Ron Vlaar has said that the Villains hope to claim maximum points against Queens Park Rangers.

“We are more solid and we are stronger as a team but we have to show that,” said Aston Villa centre back and Netherlands international Ron Vlaar ahead of the club’s trip to Loftus Road where they take on Queens Park Rangers later today, Monday.

Both teams are in desperate need of a win as Villa hope to climb the Premier League table in order to escape a potential relegation battle trapping, while QPR are at the foot of the division and, if their form does not drastically improve, could be booted out of the league.

“We have to work really hard,” continued Vlaar, as per the club’s official website. “I have all the confidence that we can do a lot better this season.

“It’s another massive game for us against QPR. They played a great game against Liverpool. They were so unlucky not to win the game.

“But we have to look to ourselves,” the Dutchman noted. “It’s a game we want to win. And we go there to get three points. Obviously that’s what they want as well.

“But we must look to ourselves and try to get everything out of that game.

“We have to start the game with the will to win it.”

Villa currently have ten points from eight games and, with victory, would not only pile more problems onto QPR, but take themselves to ninth place in the division.
