Thibaut Courtois kept United at bay for long parts of the game at Old Trafford this afternoon.

Manchester United held Chelsea to a 1-1 draw at Old Trafford this afternoon, but in reality the game could have gone either way.

As were it not for Thibaut Courtois, United may have run away with all three points.

The Belgian stopper was in incredible form, again justifying his place as the number one goalkeeper at Stamford Bridge – and perhaps only second to Manuel Neuer in the world.

Courtois spent three years at Atletico Madrid on loan before finally getting his chance at Chelsea and he is now taking it with both hands.

Even before the game Courtois looked up for this one. With all the in-tunnel pleasantries there was no such behaviour from Courtois, who gave his opposite number David De Gea, the man he replaced at Atletico, a hell of a stare before going out onto the pitch.

Courtois went on to put in a very impressive performance. His decision making was on point, handling superb and he denied Robin Van Persie in number of occasions.

He was unfortunate to concede the goal. He made an excellent save from Marouane Fellaini before Van Persie smashed the ball home from close range.

He got man-of-the-match from Gary Neville and many Chelsea fans agreed, going mad about his performance on Twitter.
