Dicetiny: A game rolling parody, boardgames & collectable cards into one

Check out the intriguing, humorous cooperative digital board game looking for funding on Kickstarter

If you think there’s enough serious high-fantasy card and board games around and are looking for something that brings a bit of humour then Dicetiny is well worth a look.

Currently over on Kickstarter Dicetiny is a digital boardgame with card collecting elements and a wealth of fantasy parodies to put a smile on the face of even the most hardened hero-questers.

The game sees you playing as one of four heros drawn from familiar fantasy game archetypes moving round a board and triggering random encounters, fighting monsters, collecting treasure, engaging in quests - all that good RPG fare.

Each board you play has a unique set of conditions that when met will spawn an end boss that you and other players in the game need to club together to beat (you can play the game on your own or with up to three other players). As you move through the game you’ll level up and get the opportunity to collect cards, which you can use to pull out to grant attacks and special abilities.

The whole package comes across like the love child of Talisman and Magic The Gathering with a healthy smattering of tongue-in-cheek references to all good things fantasy. Check out the Kickstarter video below.
