Newcastle ace warns teammates of Leicester City threat

Newcastle United's Sammy Ameobi has warned his team not to expect an easy game against Leicester City at the weekend.

Newcastle United's Sammy Ameobi admits that he is expecting a tough test when the side take on Leicester City this weekend.

The Mapgies host the Foxes desperate to pick up the three points, but Ameobi is under no illusions about how difficult a challenge that will be.

Leicester have been one of the Premier League's surprise packages so far this campaign and the Newcastle winger has warned his teammates that they will have to work hard to get the three points.

“Leicester had a great start to the season,” Ameobi said to the Gazette. “They’re a compact group, and everybody works for the team."

“I know for a fact it won’t be easy, but we’ve got the quality."

“If we get the togetherness, the graft and the hard work, we can get a win. From there, we’ll build the confidence and kick on.”

Leicester have already won on the road once this season, beating Stoke City, so Newcastle will know the threat that they pose.

Their task is likely to be made harder due to the pressure that they have brought on themselves.

The Magpies have not managed to get a victory over the course of the season so far and they will know that this simply isn't good enough.

Ameobi, himself, has been one of the brighter sparks of their campaign so far.

This is a big year for the jinking winger, as he looks to earn himself a new deal with his current contract expiring in the summer, and he seems to have made vast improvements.

Ameobi made a big impact in the club's last game before the international break, coming off the substitutes' bench to set up Papiss Cisse's crucial equaliser, and he may be in-line for a start against Leicester at the weekend.
