Cool video showing the VFX breakdown from one of the action scenes in X-Men Days Of Future Past.

Having spent a little while working in the visual effects industry I thought it would be nice to write a little bit about a video which was uploaded in promoting X-Men Days Of Future Past’s Blu-Ray release. 

The video shows a scene from the film, in which a mutant called Quicksilver, jail break’s Magneto (another mutant) out from the Pentagon.

Now although I wasn’t a huge fan of the film, I still appreciate the planning and talent that goes into creating these visual spectacles.Days if not weeks can be spent on one shot, which the viewer will only have a 10 – 15 second glimpse at, but to a VFX artist that’s a good 375 frames he has to composite,that will include elements from 3D and decent mattes to work with supplied by the roto/paint artist.
