Arsenal latest: Koscielny to undergo tests; £3m striker targeted for January

All the latest news and gossip from the past 24 hours at The Emirates.

Arsenal have another injury problem on their hands.

Yesterday saw Mesut Ozil ruled out until 2015 after suffering a knee ligament injury which was diagnosed upon arrival at the German national team camp in Frankfurt.

Now it appears that Laurent Koscielny has an Achilles problem.

The French international has been sent back from international duty with the France team with 'chronic Achilles tendinitis'.

Now it is being reported that this was simply a 'precautionary' move from the club and his country.

Arsenal will now conduct tests on the problem to see whether he needs to take time out from the game, or whether he is fit to play upon his return.

But as it is a chronic problem the club will simply have to manage the painful symptoms that come with the issue - what remains to be seen is if Koscielny can play through the pain.

With injuries to Aaron Ramsey and Mesut Ozil recently this was not news greeted warmly by Arsenal fans.

Arsenal are reportedly considering a £3 million move to bring in Klaas-Jan Huntelaar in January.

The Dutch striker is expected to leave Schalke 04 in January, as they look to cash in on the player before his contract expires in the summer.

Arsene Wenger is known to be an admirer of the player and is believed to be willing to battle Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool for the goal-machine dubbed 'The Hunter'.
