Torino snapped up Fabio Quagliarella very cheaply in July and their trust in the Italian international is being repaid handsomely.
The 31-year-old has been a solid marksman for years but he found himself cooling his heels at Juventus under Antonio Conte with Carlos Tevez and Fernando Llorente forming a potent partnership.
Back in January several English sides were linked with Quagliarella and Arsenal and Tottenham were said to have him on their lists.
But in the end Torino signed the out-of-favour frontman for just £2.4 million, payable in three instalments.
Quagliarella has been reborn at Torino and scored a superb goal against Napoli at the weekend, which was his third of the Serie A season having been the hero in mid-week in the Europa League with a late penalty against Copenaghen.
Now back in the Italy squad and growing in confidence every week, Quagliarella may make his potential Premier League suitors rue not stepping in for a bargain.
