This summer saw West Ham and QPR both linked with the free agent signing of Hugo Almeida. The Portuguese international, who has over 50 caps for his country, is a free agent after his contract with Besiktas expired this summer.
Almeida, who has previously found success in Germany with Werder Bremen, has found himself linked with several potential moves - including that of Cesena in Italy and Premier League rivals Leicester City.
But QPR and West Ham were reportedly leading the charge for the player. However it was believed that he had his heart set on finding a new club in Turkey and staying in the country he is now calling home.
But it is now believed Cesena have finally agreed to get hold of the player.
Sky Sports Italia report that Almeida will be undergoing a medical at the club.
The report suggests that the Portuguese international will be flying in for tests at the club on Monday after agreeing personal terms with the club.
Almeida remained one of the few decent options available on the free agent market, but now he is on his way to the newly promoted Serie A side the free agent market is now dwindling down to the scraps.
