Liverpool morning news: Player linked with January move; Lambert to replace Balotelli

A select round-up of the latest news relating to Liverpool

Liverpool take on West Bromwich Albion on Saturday, with reports suggesting Mario Balotelli could be dropped after failing to find the net in the league so far this season.

According to a report in the Express, Brendan Rodgers will try alternative players as he seeks to get his side back to winning ways after a worrying dip in form, seemingly opting for summer singing Rickie Lambert.

In other news, Football Italia has followed up on reports from the same newspaper that Fabio Borini could leave Liverpool in January, and have claimed that Inter Milan are the favourites for the forward’s signature.

Borini was tipped to leave Anfield this summer, with a return to Sunderland on the table. But that move failed to materialise and now it is being claimed Inter “lead the queue” for the 23-year-old who is unlikely to feature much for the Reds given the presence of Balotelli, Lambert and Daniel Sturridge.
