Valve have added in some new items and features, and even made some changes to the map in the latest update.
Valve have released the latest details for the Rekindling Soul update for Dota 2. It brings a whole bunch of changes and a few new nice shiny things for us magpies.
First off you'll notice that Shadow Fiend has been given a new look, which is very much a welcome change in my opinion. It's not an overly dramatic change, but it definitely makes him look way more badass. Along with his face-lift he gets his own Arcana item set - Demon Eater. If you buy it by 31st October the item will be of 'Exalted' quality.
The Demon Eater set grants several upgrades to the hero such as the new base skin and models with ambient effects, a different voice, new animations, spell effects and more.
The Treasure of the Forged Fury will also be available and it includes new item sets for Mirana, Naga Siren, Manus, and more along with a chance to receive the 'Lil Nova' courier.
There's also a feature called 'courier morph' which temporarily changes the courier into the one you have equipped when it delivers items to you in-game.
Season Two of the Fantasy League also kicks off too, allowing players to choose their favourite pro players to form their own fantasy team and score points based on real tournament performance.
The Fight Recap feature will allow you to study specific fights in a match, giving you detailed stats.
The map has been changed around slightly, with Roshan looking out on the river from a different angle, meaning the paths nearby have had to be rerouted. Other map changes have been implemented and you can see more images of them on the update page.
A brand new river rune has been added, the Bounty Rune. It increases gold and experience, and also spawns at the same time as any other runes, meaning there will be two rune spawns every 2 minutes from now on.
Here's a look at the new Bounty Rune and Roshan's new home, along with the re-routed paths.
The Crimson Guard armour has been added to the shop. It was originally seen back in the New Bloom event earlier this year when fighting the Year Beast.
Bloodseeker and Phantom Lancer have been reworked. Swapping BS' Bloodbath ability with a new Blood Rite ability, it allows him to 'baptize an area in the Blood of the Twins to show that they are always watching.' And PL's Juxtapose has been changed, along with adding two new abilities; Doppelganger 'will help him dodge immediate danger and confuse enemies with illusions', and Phantom Rush lets PL and his illusions 'swarm his foes.'
With all the above comes a bunch of other changes such as elevating the fountain area and new ward spots. More details and general changes can be seen on the update page such as hero tweaks and more.
A final note from Valve says that there's no Diretide event this year as the devs are working on a number of updates, one of which is 'a big update for early next year.' They say that next year will 'bring monumental changes to Dota 2' and they state 'that when you've seen what we've been working on, you'll agree it was worth it.'
