'I'm In love with Istanbul' - QPR free agent target unlikely to come to London

Hugo Almeida looks unlikely to leave Istanbul for QPR - or any club for that matter.

This week has again seen QPR linked with the free agent signing of Hugo Almeida. The Portuguese international, who has over 50 caps for his country, is a free agent after his cotnract with Besiktas expired this summer.

Almeida, who has previously found success in Germany with Werder Bremen, has found himself linked with several potential moves - including that of Cesena in Italy and Premier League rivals Leicester City.

But QPR were being reported to be leading the charge for the player.

However a spanner in the works remains.

A Turkish report suggests that Almeida will not leave the city as he looks set to head up a hotel chain ran by the new love in his life.

Almeida divorced from his wife of nine years earlier this summer and is now rumoured to be on the verge of working with a hotel chain that belongs to the family of the new woman in his life, according to Milliyet.

Almeida has previously stated:

"I would love to stay in Besiktas. Love Turkey. Do not want to leave. I want to make investments. I'm In love with Istanbul."

And it looks as though, at the age of 30, Almeida may be about to turn his back on football if a team in the Turkish capital can not offer him a deal to remain in his new home.

So unless QPR will allow one heck of a commute, Almeida does not look likely to be coming to Loftus Road.
