Spurs morning news: Last-minute winger twist, player to reassess in January

A select round-up of the latest news relating to Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham Hotspur winger Aaron Lennon reportedly hopes to resurrect his Spurs career after a late change of heart on transfer deadline day.

The England international was allegedly set for a loan move to Queens Park Ranger, before opting to remain at White Hart Lane with just 15 minutes of the transfer window remaining.

The Telegraph reports that Lennon also rejected interest from Stoke City as he believes he can force his way into Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino’s plans.

The story goes on to say the 27-year-old may reassess his situation in January, when QPR may make a new offer.

In other news, Spurs’ front-man Harry Kane netted the only goal of the game as England under-21s beat their Lithuanian counterparts on Friday.

The London Evening Standard suggests Kane will be hoping to have caught the eye of Three Lions boss Roy Hodgson.

But with the likes of Daniel Sturridge and Wayne Rooney ahead of him, it may be a while before Kane can force his way into the senior side on a regular basis.
