The microconsole from Amazon is set to hit the UK next month and you can place your orders now.

Amazon’s Android-based streaming box that connects to your TV is now officially available in the UK, and you can place you order for one over here, for its 23 October launch.

Amazon Fire TV is a microconsole and media player from The device connects to your TV allowing you to access your subscription-based streaming services such as Netflix or Prime Instant Video, and even video games. Other apps included are YouTube, Twitch, Sky News, Demand 5 and loads more.

The device was announced on 2nd April this year and was made available to buy the same day in the US for $99.99, along with the game controller for an extra $39.99. Pricing for the UK is at £79.00 for the device, and £34.99 for the game controller.

The Fire TV plays Android-based games, so you’ll be able to use it for Minecraft: Pocket Edition, Asphalt 8, and Sev Zero which comes bundled when you purchase the game controller.
