PICTURE: 'To Cellino' - Seven-year-old applies for Leeds United job

Leeds United's search for a new manager took an interesting twist as a seven-year-old fan wrote in to owner Massimo Cellino.

According to ITV News, Leeds supporter Zack Webb has written in directly to Cellino to enquire about his chances of landing the top job at Elland Road.

Leeds have been without a manager since surprise appointment Dave Hockaday was sacked.

Neil Redfearn has taken caretaker charge since, guiding the side to a 1-0 win over Bolton in their last Championship clash.

Perhaps Webb's application will provide some light-hearted relief from what is an otherwise serious time for the club, with the appointment of their next boss appearing crucial to their fortunes this season.

Leeds currently sit 18th in the Championship after two wins and three defeats from their opening five games.

Realistic contenders for the Elland Road hotseat, according to the bookies, are Simon Grayson, Steve Clarke and caretaker Redfearn.

At least this Leeds fan dares to dream, anyhow, promising promotion and Champions League glory.

If the new boss is half as successful as that, things might just take a turn for the better in Yorkshire.
