All the latest summer transfer news from Serie A...
Napoli landed the signature of Dutch midfielder Jonathan de Guzman this week, and manager Rafael Benitez is on the lookout for more new signings. According to reports in Italy, Liverpool midfielder Lucas Leiva is on the verge of a move to reunite with Benitez. The Brazilian will allegedly join Napoli on season-long loan deal for €2m, with the option to purchase him for €10m in a year's time.
Lucas may not be the only Reds player on the verge of a reunion with Benitez, as Liverpool centre back Daniel Agger could finally leave the club for a move to Napoli having been forced down the pecking order by the arrival of Dejan Lovren at Anfield.
Benitez may be lining up another swoop on the Premier League after reports suggested that Arsenal forward Lukas Podolski could also be on the radar. Serie A rivals Juventus have so far been leading the chase for the German international - though there are concerns over whether Napoli could afford Podolski's wages.
The big transfer news from Serie A this week has been the imminent departure of AC Milan striker Mario Balotelli. The controversial Italian international striker is set for a £16m move to Liverpool in the coming days, and now manager Pippo Inzaghi must look to sign a replacement - or possibly two.
Reports in Italy today suggest that Milan chief executive Adriano Galliani has met with Roma sporting director Walter Sabatini over a possible move for Mattia Destro, who has been strongly linked with a move to either Chelsea or Tottenham over the past week.
Finally, Inter's bids to improve their midfield haven't ended just yet. Manager Walter Mazzarri has already added Yann M'Vila and Gary Medel to his midfield, but speculation today is linking Inter with a move to sign Cruzeiro's Lucas Silva - but they will have to fight with Manchester United for his signature.
