Messi and Beckham latest stars to do ice bucket challenge; who do they nominate?

Two of football’s biggest names have taken on the hugely popular ice bucket challenge.

Barcelona star Lionel Messi and football phenomenon David Beckham have become the latest high-profile names to take on the popular ice bucket challenge.

As part of a fun gesture for charity, footballers around the globe have had ice-cold water thrown on them following a nomination from a famous face.

Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo was the most popular name to have taken on the challenge on Monday, with Messi and Beckham now joining in the antics.

Messi has nominated Manchester City star Sergio Aguero, as well as Argentine countryman Ezequiel Lavezzi, while Beckham opted for non-footballing names Magic Johnson, Michael Jordan and Leonardo DiCaprio.

The challenge has also seen stars such as Steven Gerrard, Darren Fletcher and Rio Ferdinand accepting, and the likes of Zlatan Ibrahimovic are now next in line to be soaked.

We are unlikely to see many more challenges accepted over the next 24 hours, as the likes of Real Madrid and Arsenal contest big fixtures in their seasons.
