It feels like it’s taking a long time for us to get to the big wave of brand new titles due for release in the next few months. All we’re seeing lately is older games shift in and out of the top 10.
The only new entry we have in the charts this week is in the form of Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition. Could this be due in part to the announcement that the game’s sequel, Rise of the Tomb Raider, is to be a timed Xbox exclusive?
Chart Track has reported a 7% rise in sales for Call of Duty: Ghosts across all platforms, helped in part by strong sales of the Xbox One version - but that hasn’t helped it much, as it’s dropped from second place down to third this week. Plants vs Zombies has disappeared completely, due to Tomb Raider’s resurgence, and all other games remain as they were, apart from EA Sports UFC dropping down to tenth, and Forza Motorsport 5 swapping places with CoD: Ghosts.
The top 10 games in the UK for Xbox One, according to the Chart Track games charts as at 16th August 2014, are below:
2 FORZA MOTORSPORT 5
3 CALL OF DUTY: GHOSTS
4 FIFA 14
5 BATTLEFIELD 4
6 WATCH DOGS
7 SNIPER ELITE 3
8 TOMB RAIDER: DEFINITIVE EDITION
9 WOLFENSTEIN: THE NEW ORDER
10 EA SPORTS UFC
