New cars to arrive with a patch bringing an on-screen map
Nintendo have given a date for the previously announced Mario Kart 8 DLC. The new content will be available in Japan from 27th August and will be coming to the west later, although a due date hasn’t yet been given.
Three new cars will be incoming with Mario Kart renditions of the Mercedes-Benz models: GLA, W25 Silver Arrow and 300 SL Roadster available for free. A new video showing off the cars in action is below.
It’s been reported the new karts will arrive along with a patch bringing a number of updates to the game. An on-screen map is expected, which was conspicuous by its absence when the game launched
A new records screen is said to be incoming which will show total coins, character selection rates, online win-loss records and other stats. Improvements to online stability are also due as is the ability to save away the last used kart customisation.
Mario Kart 8 has taken the Wii U by storm selling 2.82 million copies in the first month since its release on 30th May according to Nintendo. With the game accounting for 50% of total Wii U software sales during the companies first financial quarter.
