VIDEO: Nigel Pearson's son James scores screamer to keep Leicester unbeaten

Leicester City kept their pre-season run going with a 2-0 win at MK Dons last night, with James Pearson's stunning strike the highlight of the game.

The Foxes have only lost once in 2014 - a 4-1 defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion in April - and have won four from five games during a successful pre-season campaign so far.

Nigel Pearson's side beat MK Dons 2-0 last night with his son James scoring a stunning goal after David Nugent had opened the scoring with his fourth goal of pre-season.

The 21-year-old defender rifled a right-footed shot into the far corner after knocking the ball down with his head to give his manager and father something to think about.

He is unlikely to beat former Manchester United right-back Ritchie De Laet to a starting role this season, but he did himself no harm by scoring with a fine effort in last night's win.

Pearson has yet to play for the Foxes first-team after joining the club in 2012, and made three appearances for Carlisle in League One at the end of the last campaign. He signed a one-year extension with Leicester in June and is a player with plenty of potential.

Last season's Championship winners have been excellent during pre-season and will be more than ready to face Everton on the opening weekend of the new Premier League campaign in less than two weeks' time.

They have already beaten the Toffees as a Gary Taylor-Fletcher goal was enough to earn a 1-0 win in a friendly in Thailand against Roberto Martinez's side 10 days ago.

Leicester will face Rotherham tonight as they look to stretch their unbeaten pre-season record to six, before facing Werder Bremen at home on Saturday in their final preparation game before the new Premier League campaign kicks off.
