Arsenal legend Thierry Henry believes that Luis Suarez is the best striker in the world at the moment.

Speaking to former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand, who recently joined Queens Park Rangers on a free transfer, the ex-France international forward explained why he thinks so.

Henry speaks about a ‘proper’ striker and not about players who score a lot of goals, and perhaps he is right about Suarez, who recently left the Reds for Barcelona.

Leaving aside the controversies that Suarez has been embroiled in throughout his career, it cannot be denied that the Uruguayan, when fit and not suspended, has been a star for both Liverpool and Uruguay in the last 12 or so months.

The 27-year-old is an all-round ‘striker’ who can score both from inside the box and from long range. The former Ajax star was the Reds’ best player in 2013-14 as they finished second in the Premier League.
