Predicted Tottenham Hotspur XI for next season - Including Rojo and Townsend

Tottenham's potential side for next season based on current players and potential signings.

Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino has already been working hard to keep his senior players happy and content ahead of what could be a decisive transfer window for the club.

Spurs’ main aim next season will be to break the top four and secure Champions League football for next season, which would justify the club’s decision to move on Tim Sherwood for the Argentine coach.

Here’s the starting side Pochettino could take into next season.

GK – Hugo Lloris

The Frenchman is one of the most proactive goalkeepers in the Premier League, always looking for ways to come and take the pressure off of his defence.

RB – Kyle Walker

Walker needs to work hard defensively, but he’s a real threat using his pace to get forward and create extra width.

CB – Vlad Chiriches

With Hull sniffing around captain Michael Dawson, Chiriches could find himself as a primary centre-back next season.

CB – Jan Vertonghen

Pochettino called Vertonghen personally, which is a sure fire sign he doesn’t want the Belgian to leave. If he stays, he starts.

LB – Marcos Rojo

Rojo is really impressing at the World Cup, which will alert several clubs to his potential. However, Spurs have every chance of signing him from Sporting Lisbon.

RM – Aaron Lennon

Lennon’s pace down the right always makes him a real threat. He can get caught out defensively but Pochettino will urge a high press to try and prevent that from being exploited.

CM – Mousa Dembele

Dembele is one of the many gifted central midfielders the club have available. He can use his strength to protect the back four and his power to get forward.

CM – Paulinho

The Brazilian will be better for having a season of Premier League football under his belt. Expect him to rotate with Dembele in defence and attack.

AM – Christian Eriksen

Eriksen’s best position is when he plays centrally, gets on the ball and is able to influence a game. He’s the number ten.

LM – Andros Townsend

Considering Pochettino’s ability at Southampton to develop young, English talent, it would be a major surprise if Townsend doesn’t get a chance on the left.

ST – Romelu Lukaku

If Pochettino signs a striker, it could be the Chelsea man with the Belgian looking for a move.
