Ghana Player Ratings v Germany - Former Sunderland man impresses

Ghana put in a spirited performance in a thrilling 2-2 draw against Germany, but couldn't get the win they needed. Here's how we rated the players...

Fatau Dauda - 7 - The goalkeeper came in for Adam Kwarasey and put in a solid display despite conceding twice. Made several good stops and couldn't do anything about Miroslav Klose's equaliser.

Harrison Afful - 8 - Put so much energy into the game and didn't stop running throughout. Looked comfortable defensively as well in an eye-catching performance.

John Boye - 8 - Dominant defensive display for the Black Stars and made several key blocks as well as winning 100% of his aerial duels.

Jonathan Mensah - 7 - Also won 100% of his headers and made a brilliant clearance in front of goal late on.

Kwadwo Asamoah - 7 - Not as effective as he was against the USA but made an incredible last-ditch tackle to deny Thomas Muller in the closing stages.

Mohammed Rabiu - 7 - Combative in midfield and worked hard until substituted as he was tired towards the end of the game.

Sulley Muntari - 7 - A frustrating performance as for all his good work going forward, the former Portsmouth man was complacent when defending and will miss the game against Portugal after picking up a needless yellow card in the last minute.

Christian Atsu - 7 - The Chelsea winger excited again and was better in the final third but grew tired quickly and was taken off with 20 minutes remaining.

Kevin-Prince Boateng - 6 - A disappointing showing from the midfielder who didn't deliver what was expected of him. Substituted after 50 minutes.

Andre Ayew - 9 - Simply superb. The attacking midfielder got his side level with a brilliant header for his second goal of the tournament and put so much energy and passion in for his country.

Asamoah Gyan - 8 - Took his goal very well and led the line effectively against a powerful German defence.

Jordan Ayew - 7 - Added pace to the side after coming on and looked lively. Should have played the pass to Gyan on a break but selfishly went for goal and wasted a great chance.

Mubarak Wakaso - 6 - Came on to add fresh legs but couldn't make enough of an impact.

Emmanuel Badu - 6 - Wasn't on the field for long enough to make an impression on the game.
