Now we’re into June, it’s time to look at what games to expect this month on Sony’s handheld. There’s anime-a-plenty, farm simulators, and MotoGP action!
This month we’re looking at a few Japanese titles as well as the chance to tend our own farm in Farming Simulator 14. Have a gander at the games and trailers below, and see which you’ll be picking up.
1001 Spikes – 3 June
An oldschool-style 2D side-scroller, 1001 Spikes sets you on a journey across the globe in search of a legendary treasure. The game features single player, co-op, and v.s multiplayer too. Plus it has Cross-Buy, meaning that when you buy it on the Playstation Network you’ll get both the PS4 and Vita version of the game. Check out the 8-bit visuals in the trailer below.
Playstation Vita Pets – 6 June
Here we have the Playstation version of Nintendogs; Playstation Vita Pets. The game features four talking dogs who all have their own distinct personalities. You can dress up your new furry friends, train them and explore an island; solving puzzles and finding objects. The trailer is below.
Hyperdimension Neptunia: Producing Perfection – 6 June
Along with one of the longest game titles I’ve ever seen, Hyperdimension Neptunia: Producing Perfection is an ‘idol simulator’. As a producer your job is to teach your idol(s) to dance, sing and promote themselves – you can customise their outfits and also set up stage effects. Have a look at the trailer below.
Farming Simulator 14 – 6 June
The title of this one is self-explanatory, I hope. Become the owner of your very own farm, using real-world vehicles and equipment to tend to your land. Flat-cap and tweed get-up not included. There doesn’t appear to be a trailer for the Vita version, so there are a couple of screenshots for you below.
Atelier Rorona Plus: The Alchemist Of Arland – 20 June (PSN only)
As Rorolina Frixell, players must craft items, and fight enemies using alchemy, and intricate crafting and synthesis system. There are over 30 different endings, all dependent on how you interact with characters and finish your missions. Have a look at the trailer below.
MotoGP 14 – 20 June
The latest game from Italian developers, Milestone S.r.l, MotoGP 14 will let you relive the 2014 season. The game features riders and tracks form the official MotoGP 2014 season, the riders from the 2013 season, and also over 100 riders in total along with the official manufacturers. Take a look at Rossi at Le Mans in the trailer below.
XBlaze Code: Embryo – 24 June (North America)
More anime action here in XBlaze Code: Embryo, a visual novel from the creators of the Blazblue series. Set 150 years before the events in Blazblue, it revolves around high school student Touya Kagari, who ends up in a situation far beyond his comprehension. The teaser trailer is below.
One Piece: Unlimited World Red – 27 June
Based on the popular Japanese Anime and Manga, One Piece: Unlimited World RED has its own original story. With 20 playable characters, each with their own unique abilities, the game is a must for any fan. Have a look at the subtitled trailer below.
So there you have it, this month looks set to be anime-themed, with the odd motor-based action of bikes and farm machinery. So, which of these games will you be getting your hands on?
