After yesterday’s news that the Dota 2 International 2014 prize pool has surpassed the $6 million USD mark, extra stretch goals and rewards have been added.
What do you do once the top stretch goal has been hit in the Dota 2 Compendium, and you've made eSports history? Well, you add more stretch goals, of course. And that’s exactly what Valve have done.
There are now an extra nine stretch goals, on top of the thirteen already hit, making it a total of 22 stretch goals. The top goal, which was previously the $6 million USD mark, is now a staggering $10 million USD.
Some of the new rewards for hitting each stretch goal include a daily hero challenge, which will grant you the chance to win an extra 25 compendium points each day, by winning a match with a hero chosen for you; a chance to vote for the hero you’d like to see given an alternate voice pack; A-Z challenge support – a quest system which will track and reward your progress when you win with all the Dota Heroes; and even a live broadcast of the afterparty at the International, with special guest Darude.
The screenshot below is taken from the official Dota 2 website, and shows the additional stretch goals reaching all the way to the massive $10 million USD mark.
