Suarez talks about life after Liverpool - not Real Madrid

Formerly an Arsenal target and currently on Real Madrid's radar, Luis Suarez reveals what's in store for when he leaves Anfield, a subject of much debate.

Real Madrid have emerged as a likely candidate for protracted summer speculation linking them with a move for global football star Luis Suarez who, after a stunning season with Liverpool, has emerged as a clear rival for Cristiano Ronaldo and Barcelona forward Lionel Messi as the world's most clinical forward, capable of returning a goal or assist every game on average.

Despite Liverpool perhaps falling agonisingly short of claiming the Premier League title, the Reds displayed what they are capable of - unrelenting attacking pressure from first whistle to last. And Suarez has been instrumental in the club's sky-high goal return, elevating his estimated market value (by to £46m yet, in truth, he could quite feasibly become the first £100m player.

Would he ever leave the club, though?

Suarez was linked with a transfer away from Anfield last summer, with Arsenal bidding twice for his services but getting laughed off the negotiating table by Liverpool. It is rumoured that the Reds upper brass, though, may not be the ones to have the last laugh, even though they ratified a new, massive four-and-a-half year contract with the player.

Suarez even spoke about his future to Helden magazine, yet it is neither Arsenal nor Real Madrid whom he talks about, but a return to Ajax, the club where his prolific nature first became apparent.

He said: "I've always said on one day I will return at Ajax. Even if the manager doesn't want me, I'll go. For sure!

"Ajax was a very important step in my life. My wife Sofia and I are crazy about Amsterdam and the lifestyle, the respect from and for everyone.

"We had a happy life and could live there in peace. We walked a lot through Amsterdam."

Suarez scored 81 Eredivisie goals from 110 appearances whilst with Ajax and 111 goals from 159 outings in all competitions.
