Tottenham latest: Swiss international and £4.5m-rated Croatian linked

All the latest news, views and transfer rumours relating to Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly monitoring former West Ham United midfielder Valon Behrami according to reports in Italy.

Talk Sport has now picked up on the claims, which suggest the Swiss international is set to leave Napoli this summer and could be available for a fee in the region of £10million.

The latest report claims Spurs are just one of a number of clubs linked with the player, who is said to be open to a return to England.

In other transfer news, the Daily Mail reports that Franco Baldini is currently negotiating with Hadjuc Split over the possible transfer of midfielder Andrija Balic.

The 16-year-old, who is valued at around £4.5million, has featured for Croatia’s under-18 side and plays predominantly as a defensive midfielder.

Tottenham’s sporting director Baldini is reportedly hoping to do a deal for around £1.8million, although his current club are said to want considerably more.

And finally, Paulinho has admitted that he and teammate Emmanuel Adebayor made a mistake in the build-up to West Ham’s second goal at the weekend.

Speaking to the club’s official website, the Brazilian said, “It was difficult after losing Younes (Kaboul). Also, for the second goal, we made a mistake, myself and Ade. We spoke in the dressing room and that was a big mistake. We know that.”

Luckily for Tottenham, Manchester United’s home defeat to Sunderland sees Spurs remain in the final Europa League place despite their weekend slip-up.
