Ex-Ireland boss set for Morocco

Italian media reports suggest that former Republic of Ireland boss Giovanni Trapattoni will become the next manager of Morocco.

The Italian press are claiming that distinguished coaching veteran Giovanni Trapattoni's next job will be leading the Morocco national team.

Trapattoni is one of the most successful coaches in Serie A history having won six titles with Juventus and one with Inter and is one of just four tacticians to win the league in four different countries.

At the age of 75, Trapattoni is still going strong and looks set for a fresh challenge after ending his spell with the Republic of Ireland last September.

Sportmediaset is convinced that Trapattoni will be announced as the new boss of the Morocco national team within the week.

The site reports that the ex-Italy boss is booked on a flight from Milan to Casablanca this afternoon for meetings with the Royal Moroccan Football Federation.

It is suggested that Trap has had several offers from African sides but has set his heart on Morocco and wants to work with some of the nation's Serie A stars.

Trapattoni is expected to sign a four-year deal which will be a great way to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the start of his senior coaching career when he took over AC Milan in 1974 having been youth boss.
