Tottenham Hotspur have had an interesting season to say the least, but whatever you think of the managerial merry-go-round that shows no signs of stopping, two players in particular have shone for current boss Tim Sherwood.
Those men are Emmanuel Adebayor – whose early season exile grows more confusing by the week – and Christian Eriksen – who has now well and truly found his feet at White Hart Lane.
And one player has been speaking about the other in a recent interview with Tottenham’s official website, with the Togo front-man hailing the impact of the Danish maestro.
Speaking after Eriksen equalised in a thrilling encounter with West Bromwich Albion at the weekend, Adebayor said, “It was an amazing finish from Christian. We know how good he is and hopefully he will be the man to finish the season well for us because when he plays well, we play well.
“We’re happy and we have to keep going until the end of the season.”
If the in-form striker is to be believed, Eriksen is now Spurs' catalyst for success; and given his reputation prior to his summer move, that is no surprise.
Those in the know always felt Eriksen was destined to become a top-class play-maker, and so he is proving.
And it is worth noting that still only 22, he is still years away from his potential best.
As you can see from the Opta table below, Eriksen is proving to be a canny signing. But with a full pre-season under his belt, there is no reason why he cannot better those figures considerably in the upcoming campaign. And from there, the sky may just be the limit.
