Manchester United striker Robin Van Persie was spotted alongside coach Van Gaal and international teammate Kevin Strootman watching PSV take on Feyenoord.

Manchester United’s Robin Van Persie has been taking some time off in his native Holland over the last few weeks as he intends to recover from his injury.

The Dutch international striker suffered an ACL knee ligament injury moments after netting his third goal of the night against Olympiakos in Champions League last month.

Unfortunately for Van Persie, the injury has ruled him out for at least six weeks and he has subsequently missed Manchester United’s Champions League quarter-final tie with Bayern Munich and the Manchester derby against neighbours City.

As a part of his treatment and recovery, he has been back in Holland and has since linked up with national team boss Louis Van Gaal.

Reports had been circling that the Dutch boss – who is set to stand down after the World Cup – had been holding secret talks with Manchester United about the possibility of taking over from David Moyes.

The Red Devils have since denied having made any contact with Van Gaal regarding the United managerial hot-seat, though his frequent hang-outs with Robin Van Persie have certainly aided recent speculation.

Another man spotted in the picture is Roma’s midfielder Kevin Strootman. The Dutch international was once linked with a move to Manchester United, but he is now fully focussing on recovering from a long-term knee injury.
