As Chelsea’s players sweated blood to earn a late victory against PSG last night, Piers Morgan couldn’t help but respond to a Tweet from an Arsenal legend who praised the Blues’ work rate.
Wright said it was clear that Chelsea’s key players would run through brick walls for Jose Mourinho, which prompted Morgan to take another swipe at Arsene Wenger suggesting Arsenal’s stars wouldn’t run through candy floss for the Frenchman!
Morgan has been open and public in his criticism of the Frenchman, suggesting it’s time for the Gunners to move on and forget about the Wenger era.
However, reports from early this week have suggested that Wenger won’t be sacked and moved on in the summer, with the possibility of a successful season still evident.
Arsenal go into the semi-final of the FA Cup against Wigan this weekend as the clear favourites and they stand as good a chance as any other team of finishing in the top four by the end of the campaign.
There are going to be moments over the rest of the campaign where the Gunners are tested and where they will have to sweat blood and work a little harder for their boss and whether they can or will remains to be seen.
