Fiorentina v Man United, Arsenal and Spurs for Argentine ace

Fiorentina are challenging a trio of Premier League sides looking to sign Sevilla defender Federico Fazio, according to the Spanish press.

Argentina defender Federico Fazio is expected by many to leave Sevilla this summer even though his contract at the club runs until 2018.

The giant centre-back has been with Sevilla since 2005 when the Spanish side swooped to sign him from Argentine Second Division outfit Ferro Carril Oeste.

But of late there has been increased speculation that Fazio will leave Andalusia for a fresh challenge somewhere else in Europe.

The latest from Spanish website is that three English sides are keeping a close eye on the 27-year-old, but there is also interest from Fiorentina.

According to Fichajes, Arsenal, Manchester United and Tottenham have all reportedly expressed an interest in bringing Fazio to the Premier League but Liverpool and Everton have also been linked with him recently.

Fiorentina have become one of Serie A's leading lights in recent times, but they may still struggle to compete with the financial clout of the English trio.

The Viola are looking for more defensive options and are expected to strengthen in the summer, possibly using some of the money from the likely sale of Colombian midfield star Juan Cuadrado.
