Chievo defender Nicolas Frey is on the verge of agreeing a move to Watford, according to reports in the Italian media.
Versatile French defender Nicolas Frey could be headed for Watford in the summer if reports in Italy are to be believed.
The 30-year old, who can play as either a right-back or a centre-back, currently plies his trade for Chievo.
Frey signed for the Flying Donkeys back in 2008 and made his debut in a 2-0 loss to Fiorentina, who had his brother Sebastian playing in goal for them.
Since then, Frey has made 132 appearances for the Veronese side and become a key figure in their defence.
However, Chievo have the option to renew Frey's contract thanks to a clause in his current deal and so will have to release him from that first.
If the Clivensi are willing to do so, Frey's contract is set to expire at the end of June and he can join Watford for free.
