Liverpool legend teases Chelsea over Torres and Sturridge deals

Former Anfield striker John Aldridge has made fun of the west London club over their transfer dealings with the Merseysiders in recent times.

Liverpool seem to have taken advantage of Chelsea in the transfer market in recent years, especially when it comes to strikers.

The Reds sold Fernando Torres to the west Londoners for a cool £50million, bringing Luis Suarez to England as his replacement.

The Merseysiders also took Daniel Sturridge off Chelsea’s hands, who has ben a star since moving to Brendan Rodgers’ men.

Former Liverpool striker John Aldridge has been rubbing salt in the wounds today, taunting big-spending Chelsea for their failings in the transfer market.

“We owe Chelsea a lot. It was kind of them to give us £50million for Torres,” Aldridge is quoted as saying by The Daily Star.

“And they did us another massive favour when they sold us Daniel Sturridge for a song.”

With Sturridge and Suarez freescoring and Torres struggling in London, Chelsea must surely regret their moves with these players.

Liverpool can overtake Chelsea in the Premier League if they avoid defeat to Tottenham at Anfield later today.
