Andre Marriner really did have a bad day at the office…

Right, sit down, catch your breath and focus because that was one hell of an opening 30 minutes in the London derby.

Chelsea raced into a 3-0 lead with goals from Samuel Eto’o, Andre Schurrle and Eden Hazard – but the main talking point was the sending off of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, no wait sorry Kieran Gibbs … wait, what happened now?

The Ox pulled off a quite stunning save in front of an empty net which saw was an absolute stone wall red card offence.

However, the referee Andre Marriner ballsed up completely.

Perhaps it was the position of the pitch Chamberlain had found himself – but the referee had a real mind fart and sent off Kieran Gibbs instead!

Clearly a case of mistaken identity – so we thought we would give the maligned referee a hand via our Twitter account.

Here you go Andre – for future reference…
