Tottenham latest: Sherwood has plans for one recent signing; Kaboul's red card rescinded

A selection of the latest stories involving Tottenham Hotspur this Tuesday evening.

Tim Sherwood is only likely to guarantee that one player from those signed last summer is in his plans if he remains Tottenham boss next season according to the London Evening Standard.

That player is Christian Eriksen, with the Standard suggesting that Sherwood would want to bring in his own players to work with, but the hierarchy at Tottenham are reportedly not keen on spending much more money in the summer after spending in excess of £100million last summer.

Younes Kaboul has had his one match ban overturned after he was sent off in the 4-0 defeat to Chelsea at the weekend after Tottenham appealed.

Kaboul was dismissed for denying Samuel Eto’o a goal-scoring opportunity – and giving away a penalty in the process. It means the defender can line up against Arsenal at White Hart Lane on Sunday.

Captain Michael Dawson has urged the side to bounce back after the weekend’s hammering at Stamford Bridge – with huge games against Benfica in the Europa League, and Arsenal in the Premier League next up.

Dawson told the official Tottenham website: “We keep talking about it, unfortunately, but we have to keep showing huge character when we’ve lost in the way we have.

“Now it’s Benfica over two legs and we’ve got it all to play for.

“We’ve got to bounce back then it’s Arsenal, and that needs no building up, we know what it means to everyone, the club, the supporters.”
