Liverpool make decision on Cissokho future – report

It is believed that the Anfield outfit will not take up an option to make the full-back’s move to Merseyside permanent.

It looks like Liverpool’s search for a new left-back is set to continue, with reports in Spain that the Merseyside club will not make loan signing Aly Cissokho’s move to Anfield permanent.

The French defender has made 13 appearances for Brendan Rodgers’ men in the Premier League this term and although he has proved a useful stop-gap is not viewed as the long-term incumbent of the position.

Valencia-based media source Plaza Deportiva have claimed that the Reds have turned down the chance to sign Cissokho permanently for €4 million, with the 26-year-old set to return to the Mestalla at the end of the season.

With Jose Enrique suffering injury and a dip in form this season, Rodgers has used natural right-backs Glen Johnson and John Flanagan on the other flank at times this term, with a new left-back surely a priority for the club this summer.
