Chelsea morning news: Defender casts doubt over summer exit, Cavani blow

A round up of news stories this morning about Chelsea.

Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic has hinted any speculation linking him with a summer move away from the club is untrue.

The right-back and right sided centre half has been strongly tipped to join French giants Paris Saint-Germain at the end of the season.

“I can say this is the happiest I have been at Chelsea because, at the moment, the team is doing well and things are going right for us,” He said.

The agent of striker Edinson Cavani has suggested that his client will be staying at PSG this summer.

The forward had been linked with a big money move to Stamford Bridge but the potential of a transfer has been dismissed by Claudio Anellucci.

“Cavani will stay in Paris and there is no signal to think the opposite – These are only fantasies,” he told Radio CRC.

Chelsea left-back Ashley Cole has been praised by England manager Roy Hodgson.

Cole got a rare start last night for his country as England saw off Denmark at Wembley with a narrow 1-0 win.

“I wasn’t surprised by Ashley. I’m a great admirer of his. To play 107 times for England and be the best in the world for so long demands respect,” said Hodgson.
