Newcastle United will be hoping to build on last week's late 1-0 win over Aston Villa today, but face a tough test against Steve Bruce's Hull City.

The Tigers secured an outstanding 4-0 win at Cardiff City last weekend, where the blossoming partnership between new strikers Shane Long and Nikica Jelavic was on show yet again.

The pair start up front again today and will be looking to pile the pressure back on Magpies boss Alan Pardew, who earned something of a reprieve last week with Loic Remy's late winner over Villa.

Papiss Cisse is dropped to the bench after yet another goalless game last weekend, meaning there is a start for Dutchman Luuk de Jong, who arrived at St. James' Park from Borussia Monchengladbach in January.

Fabrizio Coloccini misses out due to a family bereavement, but there is no place for Steven Taylor in the starting line-up, as Pardew chooses to pair Mike Williamson with Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa.
