Chelsea morning news: Atletico Madrid offering £32m star to land Chelsea's Courtois?

A round up of this morning’s key stories about Chelsea.

Atletico Madrid have reportedly offered Chelsea the chance of signing star striker Diego Costa.

The La Liga high flyers are thought to be so keen on a permanent deal for Thibaut Courtois, they are willing to part with their £32 million rated front man.

Costa has been strongly linked with a move to Stamford Bridge, with Premier League interest also coming from the likes of Arsenal and Manchester United.

Jose Mourinho has revealed that he would like Liverpool to win the Premier League title if Chelsea fail.

Mourinho has historically been at odds with the Merseyside club but maintains a positive friendship with Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers.

“If we don't win it I would prefer Brendan to win it because he is my friend. When I play against my friend I want to win and he wants to win. But if I don't win, I would like Brendan to do it,” said Mourinho.

Ashley Cole will reportedly make a decision over his Chelsea future in the summer.

The veteran left-back is in the final year of his contract at Stamford Bridge with speculation swirling round over whether he’ll be offered a new deal.

Chelsea have been linked with potential replacements for Cole, most notably Southampton’s Luke Shaw and Wolfsburg’s Ricardo Rodriguez.
