PICTURE: Arsenal training ground flooded, not enough to prevent injury blow

The rain poured at Arsenal's London Colney overnight, but Kim Kallstrom perhaps will have wished the heavens opened that little bit more.

When Arsenal's stars arrived at training earlier today, they had an unwelcome surprise.

Overnight rain in North London had turned part of their London Colney training ground into a large pond.

Jack Wilshere posted the above photo on Twitter to illustrate the damage, and later discussed on the site how he even had to help the team chef park his car.

There was good and bad news for Arsenal however, as the rain was not enough to stop the club training, with the pitches apparently in good enough condition for normal sessions to take place.

The bad news was for new signing Kim Kallstrom, who was taking part in his first training session with the club - and ended up getting injured.

ITV report that the on loan Swede agitated a back injury, and the length of time he could be out is still being assessed.

While there's also no word as to whether the wet conditions contributed towards the injury in any way, perhaps it would have been better if it rained even more and the team were unable to train at all.
