Video: Ex-Gunners flop continues form as Roma down Verona

Gervinho scored another excellent goal as Roma saw off high-flying Hellas Verona 3-1 to reduce Juventus' lead at the top of Serie A.

He may not have impressed at Arsenal, but Gervinho is enjoying an excellent season for Roma and the Ivory Coast international scored a superb individual goal to help overcome Verona.

Having seen Juventus finally drop points with a 1-1 draw against Lazio last night, the pressure was on Roma to take advantage.

The Giallorossi went ahead courtesy of Adem Ljajic but saw Verona strike back through an excellent strike from Emil Hallfredsson.

But Gervinho's superb goal restored the lead and talisman Francesco Totti was able to put the game beyond doubt with a late penalty.

The result reduces Juventus' lead at the top of Serie A to six points and is a massive boost for Rudi Garcia's side who also beat the Old Lady in the Coppa Italia last week.

Roma will be hoping that this week will serve as a momentum shift in a title race they had been leading after starting the campaign with 10 consecutive victories.
