Piers Morgan brands Man United's Old Trafford the 'Theatre of Nightmares'

Piers Morgan branded Manchester United stadium Old Trafford the 'Theatre of Nightmares' before last night's game against Sunderland.

Arsenal fan Piers Morgan couldn’t help but respond to a Tweet from Gary Neville last night, as the former Manchester United defender looked forward to the League Cup semi-final second leg against Sunderland.

Neville Tweeted a picture of an Old Trafford setting which looked stunning before the game, which caused Morgan to respond, implying that the ‘Theatre of Dreams’ should be renamed the ‘Theatre of Nightmares’.

United endured a fifth defeat in six matches last night, as they were unable to setup a League Cup final against arch rivals Manchester City.

United’s record has been poor at home this season with Sunderland, Tottenham Hotspur, Newcastle United and West Brom all taking victories away from Old Trafford, which has normally carried a vibrant fear factor.

However, it’s important for United to look at the positives; fewer games over the second half of the season should help David Moyes’ men secure Champions League football and the imminent signing of Juan Mata is a big boost for the club.
