It'll be hard to sign Watford star, Torino admit

Torino are hoping to pounce for Watford full back Marco Davide Faraoni but the club's sporting director has conceded that it could be hard to sign him.

Marco Davide Faraoni is becoming hot property with several Serie A sides said to be watching him closely, but Torino are the first to express a concrete interest.

The 22-year-old joined Watford last summer on a five-year deal from sister club Udinese, who are reportedly considering attempting to sign him back.

Faraoni's agent Giovanni Bia confirmed last week that Udinese are worried that Torino could swoop in for the player but Watford are said to be ready to fight to keep him.

Torino are now making no secret of their admiration for Faraoni but Toro sporting director Gianluca Petrachi admits that a deal could be tough to broker.

"Faraoni at Watford is a very good young player," he told Sky Sport Italia.

"We could be interested in signing him but it's not an easy operation."

Watford's Italian coach Giuseppe Sannino is scheduled to meet the club's owners soon to discuss transfer policy and Faraoni's name will come up.

The player's wishes could prove important in deciding where he ends up in the long term. Faraoni is said to have settled in England but the lure of Serie A and his homeland could be tempting.
