Guarin rejects Lazio, is he waiting for Chelsea?

Inter midfielder Fredy Guarin appears to have turned down a move to Lazio, which may signal that he has his heart set on joining Chelsea.

The future of Colombian midfield star Fredy Guarin remains unclear but reports that he has rejected the chance to join Lazio may indicate that his preferred option is Chelsea.

The 27-year-old is expected to leave Inter and the Nerazzurri are said to be desperate to make the sale as soon as possible to free up funds for signings.

One of Inter's desired men is said to be Lazio's midfielder Hernanes and there were suggestions that an arrangement had been agreed between the two clubs that would see Guarin travel in the other direction.

However, Il Messaggero states that while Lazio coach Edy Reja approved the transfer of Hernanes to Inter, Guarin didn't agree to join Lazio.

Hernanes has a number of potential suitors who may pay his £10m valuation, including Tottenham, Arsenal, Liverpool and Atletico Madrid, but Guarin seems to be holding out for a move to Chelsea.

Jose Mourinho's club are known to be interested in bringing in Guarin but as yet there is no agreement between the two clubs and it isn't clear if any formal approach has even been made.

Any deal for Guarin could also include defender Andrea Ranocchia while there have also been rumours that Inter are looking to secure Juan Mata on loan.
