Adrian Mutu has departed Ajaccio after a year and has signed on for Petrolul Ploiesti in Romania.
Chelsea fans will remember Adrian Mutu as a flawed genius, whose time at Stamford Bridge came to a sudden end after testing positive for recreational drugs.
The former Romania international’s latest club was Ajaccio in Ligue 1, but the French club have confirmed today that the eastern European has left the club, and has signed for Petrolul Ploiesti.
“Mutu has, on Monday morning, terminated his contract with AC Ajaccio,” an official statement reads.
“The parties have separated by mutual agreement. The player is now free of any commitment and can probably continue his career in Romania with Petrolul.”
