Arsenal scout Nottingham Forest defender, Blackburn Rovers check on Leeds United attacker, Newcastle United, Swansea City, West Bromwich Albion and Aston Villa keep tabs on Leicester City starlet, Hull City striker wanted by Bradford City and Brighton and Wolverhampton Wanderers have interest in wantaway striker.
1) According to reports in The Mirror, Arsenal have sent scout Steve Rowley for an update on Nottingham Forest defender Jamaal Lascelles, in preparation for a bid this window. It's not the first time Arsenal have been in for the player, having seen a £5m bid rejected for the player in 2011. It shows how valuable the Forest hierarchy rate the player and with the possibility of Jack Hobbs leaving this window, the Reds will be keen to keep hold of their talented 20-year-old. The defender is yet to win an England U21 call up, having been a huge part of the U19 set up earlier in his career, but in his current form he should be entitled to a debut next time the squads are announced.
The England U21 defender would have caught the eye of every scout in the country for his performance against Derby County on Friday which has apparently attracted interest from four Premier League sides. Aston Villa, Newcastle United, Swansea and West Brom are the sides that have been credited to having interest in the player but Leicester City will be in no rush to sell their best young talent.
3) Leon Clarke has officially handed in a transfer request at Coventry and will now wait to see which clubs are ready to match the City's valuation.

Wolverhampton Wanderers, Barnsley and Brighton have all been credited with interest in the former Sheffield Wednesday striker and for all three the signing would be seen as a large gamble. Despite being in emphatic form this season in League One, the striker's previous stints in the Championship leave much to be desired, with his best season coming in 08/09 where he scored just 8 goals in 29 games.
4) Bradford City are launching an ambitious bid for Hull City striker Aaron McClean as they look to replace Nahki Wells.
Whether or not Aaron McClean would be open to a move down to League One would be another question, but it seems that Bradford are intent on finding a replacement with a good pedigree to ease the loss of their top goalscorer.
5) Blackburn Rovers have registered an interest in Leeds United striker Luke Varney, but may have to wait for a player to leave before they can sanction the deal. According to journalist Alan Nixon on twitter, the Leeds frontman has put a loan move to Bristol City on hold to see whether or not Rovers will be able to get the deal over the line. The former Derby County player's time at Elland Road looks finished, as they're actively seeking to bring in players in his position.
