Manchester United transfer news: Defender’s agent ‘cannot talk about speculation’

A select round-up of transfer news relating to Manchester United

A new name has been thrown into the rumour mill this morning…or at least a name that has not been linked with Manchester United for some time.

That is Inter Milan’s Yuto Nagatomo – a Japanese winger who is equally comfortably playing at full-back.

Forza Italian Football has picked up on initial reports claiming the 27-year-old is attracting the interest of both United and Real Madrid. And given his ability to play in a whole host of positions, the move could make sense.

Although as with most rumours doing the rounds in the transfer window, this one should be taken with a pinch of salt for now. Most notably because just days ago the player reportedly signed a contract extension keeping him at the club until 2016.

Another defender, Dede, has been linked with a switch to Old Trafford in recent days. However, speaking to Lancenet, the player’s agent said, “I cannot talk about this speculation regarding Manchester United because it is something unknown to me.”

This despite earlier claims that United were considering a double swoop for Dede and long-linked midfield target Everton Ribeiro.

So it appears the search, for any new player, goes on…
