The top five players linked with signing for Man United this week: Reus, Moutinho and more

Borussia Dortmund, Bayern Munich, Monaco, Cruzeiro and Benfica stars all feature.

Manchester United have experienced more ups and downs this season than a roller coaster as David Moyes searches for some consistency to stop United from finishing outside the top four.

United’s ample funds have been well publicised this week, with reports prompting plenty of rumours and speculation over the players who could come to Old Trafford and save the club’s season.

Here are the five top players to have been linked with moves to Old Trafford this week.

1) Marco Reus (Borussia Dortmund)

Dortmund’s midfield magician continues to be linked with a Manchester United move as part of the £100 million transfer kitty David Moyes has been handed. However, every indication suggests it will be too difficult a deal to do in the near future and the club may have to wait until the summer.

2) Mario Mandzukic (Bayern Munich)

The Mirror reported at the start of the week that United were interested in signing the Bayern Munich striker. With Borussia Dortmund’s Robert Lewandowski confirming he will join Bayern in the summer, a deal for Mandzukic could be possible.

3) Joao Moutinho (AS Monaco)

Portuguese website A Bola has suggested United could pull off a move that Tottenham Hotspur failed, with the signing of Joao Moutinho. The Portuguese midfielder has grown reportedly disillusioned with the club having only moved there last summer.

4) Dede (Cruzeiro)

With doubt hanging over the future of United captain Nemanja Vidic, several websites have suggested Moyes has already started looking for a replacement. Brazilian 25-year-old Dede has been linked with United in a potential €15 million deal.

5) Ezequiel Garay (Benfica)

Another potential defensive signing according to the Metro is Benfica’s Ezequiel Garay. The report suggests a fee of around the £8 million mark but take it with a pinch of salt because the club has been linked with the Argentine for over a year.
