Transfer talk: Featuring Salah, Arsenal 'not contacted anybody' and Cole

Transfer news from Arsenal, Liverpool, Tottenham, Chelsea, Everton, West Ham, QPR and Fulham.

Arsene Wenger has played down speculation linking the club with a move for former Tottenham striker Dimitar Berbatov.

The club are in need of a striker and the Fulham man was said to be the target of a £2 million bid from The Gunners.

However, in his press conference today Wenger confirmed that he was ‘not a name they had considered for the moment.’

He also made it clear that as of yet Arsenal have not ‘contacted anybody’ about transfers.

Liverpool youngster Adam Morgan has ended speculation over his future - by joining Yeovil Town on a permanent deal.

The striker is considered very talented - and even featured for the first-team last campaign. However he is not expected to crack the first-team so Liverpool were ready to let him leave after a successful loan spell at Huish Park.

He has signed a two-and-a-half year deal at the club.

Everton have confirmed once again that Johnny Heitinga and Nikica Jelavic are up for sale - after Heitinga’s deal to join West Ham collapsed yesterday.

The Dutchman pulled the plug on the deal but both are still expected to move on.

Liverpool’s interest in Basel winger Mohamed Salah continues to rise - but so does the interest from elsewhere.

According to reports they could have as many as four or five rivals in the pursuit of the ‘Egyptian Messi’ from rival Premier League, Bundesliga and Serie A clubs.

Meanwhile Mido, the former Tottenham striker, claims he will be joining Liverpool next week.

Reports also claim that for the deal to go through Brendan Rodgers is willing to let Raheem Sterling join Swansea City on loan for the rest of the season - to continue his impressive progress this season.

Finally, and QPR seem ready to pounce on West Ham’s indecision over the future of Carlton Cole. The striker’s deal at Upton Park expires this month and as yet no talks have begun over a renewal.

Harry Redknapp is keen to snap him up and get a promotion chase back on the tracks after a recent blip.
