Does Rosicky deserve an Arsenal contract extension?

The experienced Gunners midfielder’s deal with the club is running down – should he get a renewal?

Arsenal’s midfield the side’s main strength with some top-class players inspiring the side to the top of the Premier League at the halfway stage.

The likes of Mesut Ozil and Aaron Ramsey have been stars this season, while Santi Cazorla, Mathieu Flamini, Mikel Arteta, Jack Wilshere and Theo Walcott have played their part also.

However, one midfielder that could well be leaving north London at the end of the campaign is Tomas Rosicky.

The experienced Czech Republic international’s contract expires in the summer, with no sign of whether he will get a renewal or be allowed to leave to pursue pastures new.

The 33-year-old has played 11 Premier League games so far this term and also featured in critical Champions League fixtures. He is one of the longest serving players at Arsene Wenger’s disposal, and seemingly someone that the French manager trusts.

In Arsene Wenger’s reign as Arsenal boss, which totals 17 completed seasons, the club has only finished in a lower position at the end of the campaign than they sat at the new year on three occasions.
